20 years have passed since the opening of the first Jean-Paul Hévin shop on la Motte Picquet Avenue, Paris 7th district, in 1988.

To commemorate this event, Assouline Publishing created a book about the history of the Jean-Paul Hévin house in its "Mémoire du goût" collection.

Written by François Simon, a senior reporter at Le Figaro and chonicler for Paris Première, the early pages tell about us Jean-Paul Hévin's past and throw a new light on the motivation that stills prompts him, 20 years later, to continue his work as an artisan with as much enthusiasm as before.

Designed as a retrospective, the book is filled with photos of Jean-Paul Hévin's finest creations: a visual tribute to the chocolates, confectioneries and cakes that have marked his astonishing rise to fame, from Paris to Tokyo.
