At the start of the year, Jean-Paul Hévin takes us on a trip to Ecuador. It is in this Central American country that the “Nacional” bean comes from, used for its new Grand Cru 2019 collection.
Cultivated in the heart of Ecuador, cocoa is renowned for being very fine and aromatic, which makes it a highly sought-after exceptional cocoa. It is thus known for its floral characteristics as well as its fruit aromas.
As with each new collection, Jean-Paul Hévin presents his new cocoa through 3 emblematic products: the chocolate candy, the macaroon and the dark chocolate bar.
The Ecuador chocolate bar 70% cocoa
A dark chocolate bar characterized by a sweet attack, notes of licorice and spices then a hint of floral notes.
Weight : 75g
Price : €3.90
Cocoa percentage : 70%
Some tips for enjoying your chocolate bar: store it at room temperature and away from humidity, odors and light. Then for tasting, take a roughly broken piece of chocolate, let it melt on your palate. It is while melting that the chocolate will release its aromas. To smell these aromas more, exhale gently through your nose.
Ecuador chocolate candy
There is now a new chocolate candy in the “Grands Crus” range. This flat and square chocolate candy will be recognized by its bitter ganache made from Grand Cru cocoa from Ecuador.
A chocolate candy that you can find in the “Grands Crus” chocolate boxes (from €18.60) or the “Grand Classique” chocolate boxes (from €15.50).
The Ecuador macaron
For lovers of chocolate macaroons, Jean-Paul Hévin now offers 5 different flavors. The Ecuador macaron stands out from the others by its bitter ganache and floral notes.
A macaron that you will find in the assorted macaron boxes but also in the Total Cacao boxes. And to allow you an exclusive tasting of this new macaron, a case composed solely of this latest creation is on sale.
Excellent tasting!
