A MOST PARISIAN KING CAKE

For this new year, Jean-Paul Hévin wanted to denote the galette des Rois with subtle chocolate flavors, without taking away its traditional flavor.
The pancakes have of course been designed for young and old gourmands, with adapted sizes. From the cake for 1 person at €7.10, to the one for 3 people at €21, through the 6 person cake at €39, to finally finish with the large family cake at €58 for 9 people!
The cakes will be available in our stores, with the possibility of booking via Click and Collect on our website from January 3 to January 20 inclusive.
Paris is in the spotlight !
Always eagerly awaited, the visual of the Jean-Paul Hévin cake is a must-see for its sober but enchanting side.
Its name, “Snow in Paris” leads us to dream of a Winter in Paris under the snow. Thus, the Skyline of Paris monuments invites us to a gourmet reverie for the month of January.
A few streaks of flaky, chocolatey pastry break the sprinkled rhythm of the capital's snow-covered monuments. To this visual poetry is added a marked relief, thanks to the flaky and airy structure of the different layers of the Jean-Paul Hévin Galette des Rois.
The King Cake 2024, a real challenge !
Revisiting this end-of-year holiday classic remains a baking challenge.
Far too often pancakes are adorned with an image of a cake that is far too fatty and too sweet, a pastry that is ultimately eaten out of tradition and not out of desire. An image of the pancake which for La Maison Jean-Paul Hévin only aspires to demonstrate the opposite.
This is why the Galette des Rois 2024 is intended to be light, with measured notes of cocoa, in order to keep in the mouth the flavor of a creamy and balanced almond cream sprinkled with chocolate chips, origin Peru.
Peru in the spotlight !
For this galette des Rois, Jean-Paul Hévin opted for a balanced chocolate of great finesse in order to marry an equally refined almond cream. To do this, the choice of cocoa was focused on the Grand Cru of Peru with floral and chocolate notes, long in the mouth.
As indulgence has no limits at Jean-Paul Hévin, this almond cream is sprinkled with a multitude of chocolate chips, to further revive the taste buds of chocolate lovers.
Lafayette Gourmet still has its exclusivity !
Like every year, the Jean-Paul Hévin de Lafayette Gourmet stand located at 35, Boulevard Haussmann in the 9th arrondissement of Paris offers an exclusive creation. For this year the choice fell on a visual representing an emblematic monument of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, which could be recognized by adults but also by children.
